Good questions

Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many signs you make. The QR code is generated in your browser using an open-source library, so your link is never sent to a server.
Will the QR code expire?
No. A QR code is just a picture of a web address, so it works for as long as the link behind it works. There is no tracking redirect in the middle, which also means nothing can break it later.
How do I save it as a PDF?
Press Print, then choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in your printer dialog. That gives you a file you can send to a print shop or keep for later.
What size should a QR table sign be?
For a table card that people scan from a seat away, A5 (148×210mm) is the sweet spot — big enough to read across a place setting, small enough not to dominate the table. A4 works as a welcome sign near the door, and the four-per-page layout gives you small cards for a long banquet table.
How far away can a phone scan it?
A rough rule: a phone camera reads a QR code from about ten times its width. The A5 sign here prints a QR around 45mm across, so it scans comfortably from half a metre — well within reach of anyone sitting at the table.
